Websites for Small Businesses in Montreal

I'm Tom Cobb. I build fast, modern websites for small businesses in Montreal: bilingual, easy to book from, and cheap to run once they're live.

Starting at $2,500 CAD · Optional maintenance: $49/month · Main running cost after launch: your domain.

What's included

  • One to five pages. Usually home, services and prices, about, gallery and contact.
  • French and English versions of every page.
  • Fast on a phone, on your own domain.
  • Booking or contact. A link to the booking tool you already use, like Fresha, Booksy or Square, or a simple contact form.
  • Google Business Profile linked up, with your reviews and a map.
  • Local SEO basics. Page titles and descriptions, LocalBusiness structured data and Google Search Console set up.
  • Click-to-call, directions and your Instagram photos where they help.

I build with AI tools, so the first version comes together quickly, then I review and polish every page by hand.

Why it costs next to nothing to run

The site is built as plain, fast files, with no server to run and no plugins to keep patched. Static sites like this can be hosted on a free tier, such as Cloudflare Pages, which is what this site runs on.

That leaves your domain name as the main ongoing cost, renewed once a year. If you use a booking tool, an email provider or a paid Google Workspace account, those bill you directly, as they would with any website. There is no monthly website-builder subscription. Maintenance from me is optional, at $49/month.

Examples

Some of the websites I've designed and built:

  • DevvE: a lean launch website and online identity.
  • Devv.io: minimalist website design and custom development for an enterprise technology company.
  • EatItUp Media: an online portfolio for an in-person marketing agency.
  • Litcraft.io: website design, development and 3D animations for a game studio.

More in projects.

How it works

  1. Kickoff call. 30 minutes on your business, your customers and what the site needs to do.
  2. Home page preview. You see the home page before you pay.
  3. Build and review. I build the rest, and you get one round of revisions.
  4. Launch and handover. The site goes live on your domain, and you get a short video on how to update it.

Timeline: 5–7 business days.

Small business websites: frequently asked questions

How much does a small business website cost?

Websites start at $2,500 CAD, with optional maintenance at $49/month. The exact price is confirmed in writing before any work starts, and you see a preview of the home page before you pay.

What does hosting cost?

Usually nothing. The site is static, so it can run on a free hosting tier such as Cloudflare Pages. Your main ongoing cost is the domain name, renewed once a year. Booking or email tools you choose bill you directly.

Who owns the website and the domain?

You do. The domain and the hosting account should be in your name, not mine.

Will my website be in French and English?

Yes, both are included. If you serve customers in Quebec, the Charter of the French Language, as amended by Bill 96, expects your commercial content to be available in French. This is general information, not legal advice.

Can customers book online?

Yes. I link the booking tool you already use, like Fresha, Booksy or Square, or add a contact form. For custom booking rules and automated reminders, see the booking and automation service.
